Day 3
I am thankful for compassionate friends. I was dead on my feet at work today, and my coworkers (dare I say: friends!!) were kind enough to send me home a couple of hours early, so I could become necessarily drugged and sit with a bag of frozen peas on my face. It was an awesome evening. I have been realizing over the the past few weeks that I have actually built an amazing group around my family. Last week, we were having a rough time at the car dealership while waiting for an oil change. I posted something on Facebook, and a friend called me within thirty minutes to ask if I needed some help with the kids, to relieve some of the chaos. Now, that was a fantastic offer (lucky for her, we were already done). And those are just two of the most recent examples. I am also finding that friends that I made years, even decades ago, remember me as I was and still consider me to be attention-worthy, over a great distance. And, that is a fulfilling feeling.
