Days 5 & 6

Yesterday was Day 5, and I had a hard time thinking of that one thing for which I felt most thankful.  Naptime was spectacular; I felt thankful for that after lunch snooze that all five of us were fortunate to take together.  But, that didn't quite feel right.  I am thankful that Simba is doing so well with house-training.  It's been two weeks, and our newest family member is doing great with asking to be let outside.  Also, he's super cute.

But, what really came to me, at 9:30 at night, was how thankful I am for my Aurelia.  She is so smart.  And her intelligence entertains me.  We have a coin counter-- you know, the thing with the jar and you put the coins in the top and there is a digital reading of how much money is in there.  Well, it's never been accurate.  So I decided to dump out all the money and replace it, so we would finally know how much change we've been collecting.  Aurelia saw me start the project, and when I got home from work, Matthew informed me that putting coins in the jar was all she had done between bath time and bedtime.  She is the best little copycat, and it makes me proud.  Today, we went out to take the dogs to their veterinary appointment.  It was chaotic to get from the front door to the car, but once we were all set, she exclaimed "Ready, Freddy?!"  Which is something I have always said to them as we go out the door.  Basically, my kid is awesome, and I am thankful for that.

Day 6:  Today I am thankful for the sunshine on this fall day.  I am allowing myself rest because my face is effing killing me, but the warm diffused glow of the sun and turning leaves on our quaint street makes me feel better.
