I actually have a cold, for the first time in about a year and a half. Somehow, germs avoided me during Aurelia's first winter, but the combination of pregnancy, sleep deprivation and an infested workplace caught up with me. But, it turns out, that baby comes first whether or not you feel up to it. This is one of the dirty little secrets people tell you about when they think you want their advice. Moms don't get a sick day. Thank you, kind albeit nosy stranger; now please take your hands off of me.
I told you that to tell you this: Aurelia is great at entertaining herself this week, which has been super helpful. I am worried about how she is going to fare with the new baby taking a lot of my attention; she's pretty clingy still... But, this week, she has been content to let me just sit on the floor (which is enough of a challenge) while she brings me toys to animate. This morning she made quick work of a stack of flattened priority mailing boxes I had stored behind the couch. She pulled them out from their area and made a pile in one part of the living room. Then she proceeded to move them one or two at time to a different pile. They now sit in two separate and unequal piles, but I have faith in her confidence that they are in the best place.
With all of my rooms and projects organized and done, I have been trying to occupy my mind with something else. I can't just sit and wait, as my dear husband predicted. I need activity (preferably activity that doesn't require me to do my hair). So you'll be hearing more about that later.... I'm thinking of changing the blog up a bit too (in isolated posts, I seem funny, but strung one after the other coupled with my exhaustion, it's pretty dull over here... aaaanyway).
Stay tuned for photos of the nursery and the awesome cookies I'm about to bake/cough all over!!
