Sebby Sunday Times

A digression before we begin: in typing the title of this post, I remember now that I have, yet again, forgotten to pick up a Sunday paper for the coupons... blerg.

What I really wanted to talk about:

My mom is coming to visit me again! I have no other news that can compare to this piece. Matthew has the opportunity to travel to Boston next month to attend a conference relating to college campus unions and events. He called me when he received the invitation and asked if I was okay with him going. Of course! Sounds fun!, I replied, thinking it would be a three-day trip like the one he had taken to Missoula last year for a similar conference. Later that week, he told me the dates. He'll be gone for a full week, and although I tend to bitch and moan about how little help he is around here, he is kinda alotta help around here. Faced with this week alone with my snuggle-bug boy who is becoming oh, so heavy and my back-talking toddler, I had myself a lil' panic. I still wanted Matt to be able to go on his trip (and enjoy a thoroughly Bostonian St. Paddy's Day), but I also wanted to be able to take a shower. Enter my dear, dear mother. She has been talking about trying to come out and see Thad since before he was born, and now she is!! We last saw her in July for Aurelia's birthday, and although time has flown for me, I am excited for her to see how much has changed. She can meet my son and get first-hand experience with Aurelia's premature "terrible two" shenanigans. I will also have the chance to show off our new home, which is just super duper since I've been complaining at her about wanting a bigger place for a year now!

(A side note: do y'all think this blog is a sign of my overgrown vanity or ego? Where I thought I was just writing for a bit of fun for myself and to give my back-east family and all-over-the-place friends some insight-should they care-into this beautiful mess we are creating, others think I'm working too hard on 'self-promotion'... What is really all about, Charlie Brown? And why do we let it bother us?)
