Week one of my little challenge-with-friends down, and I am down 3.8 pounds! This seems like a large enough accomplishment, even to me, but I know this is a small percentage of what I'd like to achieve overall. My strategy has been simple, thus far: I tabulate the intake and output of calories using a fabulous website (myfitnesspal.com). Let me tell you, being on a 1300 calorie diet suuuuckss! I know this sounds low, but I do live a pretty sedentary life (chasing children around aside). Any exercise I do (minimal to a fault) earns me dessert... or cheese. It's been super to have a little support system; three special ladies are fighting the good fight along with me. We walked almost three miles with the kids on Monday and having them silently holding me accountable forced me to do a 45-minute trek around the neighborhood at seven this morning. So, week one down; eleven weeks to go. Summer in Chicago, here less of me comes!
