36 Weeks, But Who's Counting?

My attitude of this pregnancy has been different, as I've said before. Here, at the end, I am still torn. The idea of not having a pair of feet stuck in my ribs, of going an hour without having to pee, of waking up from a restful sleep without my body creaking and complaining. However, I'll have to give up my awesome excuse to skip scrubbing the shower (just this once...) or put off going to the grocery store in order to lounge on the couch and re-watch The Office. Yes, pregnancy synonymous with lazy for me (hey, I made a person today; what did you do??). But that will all be over, and a new little baby will be needing needing needing in addition to Aurelia, for whom my quest to make her just a teensy bit more independent of me has failed miserably. I probably won't be doing chores, but neither will I be napping. Anyway, I can't decide which is more exhausting.

This baby has decided, while simultaneously sticking his little butt out of my abdomen as far as he can (I can't even explain how tight my skin is stretched), that he wants to nuzzle his face low into my pelvis. Yesterday, I had to pee quite literally every seven minutes. I went to the doctor fearing (hoping for) a UTI. (Hoping because it means a round of antibiotics would fix it) As it turns out, my kid just likes how my bladder feels as a pillow. I did get some good news though: I am already dilated to 1.5-2 cm. She said 2, then backed down to 1 1/2. This means nothing in terms of predicting T.J.'s arrival. What it does mean is that, I should progress at about 1cm per week, and so on my due date, I should already have 4-5cm under my belt, which will make the second half go much quicker.

In other news, Aurelia was playing with my car keys while we were in the exam room, and she figured out the buttons. I did not know how far we were from the car, nor the range of the keypad. Turns out, the range is far enough that Aurelia was able to open my trunk, and it stayed open until we left our appointment 30 minutes later. Now, I didn't think the tiny light in the trunk could drain a battery in that short amount of time; shows you what I know. Matt had to come rescue us (but not the car because we don't have jumper cables) from the parking lot. Good times.
