Oh, Dear

Matthew noticed that I haven't been blogging lately, and that is by and large to spare you all from the boring rambles that have been occurring here. I have not been writing very witty. My funny seems to come in punctuated one-liners that aren't worth repeating; the telling of the back story would put you to sleep.

But, something funny happened today.

Have you ever seen the second Adamms Family movie where the baby gets "sick" for some reason or another? He's the opposite of the rest of the family; blue eyes, curly blonde hair, rosy cheeks... And Morticia is reading him The Cat in the Hat. She reads a line, and looks disappointedly down at her son. "Are you enjoying this?" A happy slap at the book answers her question. She then flips to the last page and reads to herself. Her face falls just a little more. "Oh, dear... He lives."

I am reminded of this movie scene during the Elmo segment of Sesame Street...

*Note: Some people didn't get the joke here. To be perfectly clear, I'm disappointed that Elmo lives. He is severely annoying, but my daughter loves him so much. We watch the show for her enjoyment, and he never dies at the end. Get it??
